Consultation on our strategic plan 2012-15

Submissions for this Consultation have now closed

Introduction

The Commission has launched the first of three phases of consultation to develop our next strategic plan.

The plan will cover our plans and priorities from April 2012 to March 2015 and is due to be laid before Parliament in April 2012.

We have designed a strategic planning process at the heart of which is consulting and involving all those interested in our work from start to finish.

Further information on the strategic planning process can be found in our About the consultation document.

The consultation process

We will consult in three phases. The first phase, which launched on 23 June 2011, is a statutory consultation on our Strategic Plan 2009-2012.

Phase one

This consultation launched on 23 June 2011 and will run for four weeks until 22 July 2011. This is being delivered online and we would like to encourage you to read the supporting information and then complete our questionnaire. Further details can be found under About this consultation.

Phase two

A second 60 day consultation seeking views on our emerging priorities for 2012 to 2015 will begin in early autumn. We plan to run focus groups and also provide an opportunity to contribute online. Feedback received will help shape our draft Strategic Plan, which we plan to publish in January 2012.

Phase three

The final 30 day consultation seeking views on our draft strategic plan launches in early 2012. We plan to run further focus groups and give everyone the opportunity to comment on our draft Plan before we publish in April 2012. We will also feedback to you on whether or how we have included your input.

About the consultation

This 30 day consultation forms the first phase of our strategic planning process. It gives you the opportunity to tell us what you think of our strategic plan for 2009-2012 and how we have fared in keeping our promise about the ten things we said we would deliver.

It opened on 23 June 2011 and you must respond by no later than 22 July 2011.

Any strategic planning exercise involves tough choices. The Commission's budget settlement and the impact of socio-economic changes on our stakeholders and the vulnerable groups we're here to help means it's more important than ever that we use our resources to best effect and demonstrate value for money.

We want your help in making these tough choices. We intend to actively involve as many people as possible in this process and see it as an open conversation with our stakeholders until we finalise our Strategic Plan 2012-2015.

We have published a document, About the consultation, which provides you with an overview of the strategic planning process and relevant information on what the Commission has delivered since 2009.
