Low Review: Personal Mobility in State Residential Care: Submit Evidence by 10 October

I am delighted to be leading an independent review into how the mobility needs of people living in residential care are met and funded.

In the 2010 Spending Review the Government announced its intention to remove the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance, soon to become Personal Independence Payment, from people living in state-funded residential care.

The Daily Mail and Daily Express lead with vicious and misleading attacks on disabled benefit claimants, while the Daily Telegraph reports on Boris Johnson's call for very wealthy people to pay less tax.

Welcome to the UK under David Cameron, where the poorest are blamed for the nation's problems while the richest are portrayed as victims.

Cash Fund supports Cumbria Carer's

Cash fund will provide vital support to Cumbria's carers

Hundreds of carers across Cumbria are to benefit from an annual £500,000 fund which will be spent on giving them vital support.

GPs have agreed to invest the cash annually over the next four years in funding support services for the county’s army of carers, whose efforts save the NHS millions.
