Sports Coaches Required - Furness Wildcats Wheelchair Sports Club

Translate

Hey coach - fancy a challenge? Can you deliver wheelchair sessions?

Our friends at Furness Wildcats recently obtained junior wheelchairs to help set up regular wheelchair sport sessions. These take place at 5.30pm on Mondays (term time only) at Hoops and the first few sessions have been a huge success. We are looking to try as many sports as possible and we welcome coaches from different sports. We have the whole of Hoops for an hour so we have room for team and individual sports. Can you adapt your coaching for young people in wheelchairs?

If you think you can help, please ring Nicola on 07776348687

New Wheelchair sessions a huge success

Barrow Sports Council has been running multi sports sessions for children with a disability at Hoops Basketball Centre for several years.

This term we have added wheelchair sessions with Furness Wildcats

Our first few wheelchair sessions have been a huge success so we are having some more. For the wheelchair session, you don't have to be a wheelchair user. All young people with a disability are welcome and we will provide chairs. And if we have enough chairs left over, parents, carers and siblings can join in. So far we've tried wheelchair rugby, basketball, cricketand football.

The sessions are free. If you would like like more information please contact Michelle at michelle.mcaveeny@cumbriacc.gov.uk
