Carers Week 2012 from 18 to 24 June 2012. The theme this year is "In sickness and in health”. We are asking carers how your caring role impacts on your health and wellbeing. Are you worried that the cuts to services from statutory agencies and government bodies will make you shoulder more of the burden? Are you already feeling the effects of the cuts to local services, if so we are keen to hear how its affecting your life.
Does your GP know about your caring role and have you been offered health checks? If you work, is your employer sympathetic? Does your workplace recognise Carers Week?

Carlisle Carers Association Carer’s Week Diary
Monday 18 June
Pop in for a cuppa and a chat from 1pm to 3pm. Daphne and Louise will be on hand to chat to.
Tuesday 19 June
Coffee morning, usual time 10am to 12pm, join Daphne and Louise for a cuppa.
Wednesday 20 June
Pop in for a cuppa 10am to 12pm, Daphne and Louise will be on hand to chat to.
Thursday 21 June
Sharabang to Scarborough leaving Fusehill Street at 8am and leaving sunny Scarborough (sunshine has been booked) at 5pm. This trip is free to carers and only 22 places so first come first served; contact Daphne or Louise to book a place).
Friday 22 June
Lunch with John Stevenson
Mr John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle will be having lunch with us from 12pm to 2pm. You can pop down for an informal chat and a bite of lunch. Rumour has it Mike Hannon will then provide us all with a song two; please contact Daphne or Louise so we can book numbers for lunch.
Banners and Stalls
Look out for our banners and stalls at Cumberland Infirmary and the library. We also have a number of information points within GP practices.
