Celebrating Our Faiths

Translate

On Saturday 17th November at the South Lakes Foyer, a gathering of at least 50 people shared aspects of their faiths. The Foyer's main room was filled to capacity with 16 large tables - each "stall" represented a coming together of the different faiths in South Lakeland.

The stalls covered many different viewpoints, with each working together with great interest and respect in what was covered in the displays.

The faith organisations included:
Buddhism, the Christian Churches of Kendal and District, the Baha'i faith, Kendal Ecumenical Group, Beacon of light Spiritualist Church, the Brahma Kumaris (Hindu), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Holocost Memorial events organisation,   Interfaith ministry, and Green Spirit.
The Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and Awaz Cumbria, who also had stalls.

It is hoped that this innovative event will be repeated every year. It was organised by the South Lakeland Interfaith Forum, jointly with the South Lakeland Equality and Diversity Partnership.

The photographs of the event will be on the South Lakeland Interfaith Facebook page.”
