Welcome to our round up of what’s happening in Manchester for LGBT communities over the coming months. We’ve news about three big events coming to the city, plus the revival of our LGBT Blog to coincide with the introduction of Marriage Equality in most of the UK in March.


EVENT: The 17th Great British Bear Bash 
Fri 2 – Mon 5 May 2014
Anyone who prefers a beard to a clean shaven face or a belly to a six pack should head to Manchester’s Gay Village over the May Bank Holiday weekend and join in the fun of the fur.

Famed for its friendly welcome, the GBBB offers a weekend pass ticket which gets you into all of the events and provides discounts.

This year’s theme is The Big Top, and there are bound to be a few of them around, so find out more about the Great British Bear Bash here.

EVENT: Sparkle
Fri 11 – Sun 13 July 2014
Celebrating its 10th year, Sparkle will be bringing a touch of glamour to city as people making up the trans communities come together for a weekend of fun, workshops and parties.

Sparkle in the Park spreads over 2 days this year, as Sakville Park is transformed into a space of entertainment, education and shopping.

EVENT: Manchester Pride

Throughout August, Manchester celebrates LGBT Pride, welcoming thousands from all over the world.

It culminates in The Big Weekend from Fri 22 – Mon 25 August where Manchester’s Gay Village becomes a place to party, dance to some great live acts, remember those who live with HIV and raise much needed money for charities.

Weekend passes bring great savings so booking early is recommended.
