Have your say about the impact of current Government policies on voluntary and community sector and equality groups assisting those with protected characteristics in a survey commissioned by the North West Infrastructure Partnership open until 10th July:

The Survey can be found at the following link:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BIGSOC1

This survey is being conducted by the Centre for Local Policy Studies at Edge Hill University for the North West Infrastructure partnership, a body representing a range of organisations involved with equalities in the voluntary and community sector. The aim of the survey is to consider the impact of four major areas of change in government policy and ask how these are affecting voluntary and third sector organisations and what impact these changes are having on equalities in the North West. The survey is part of a wider research project involving focus groups and case studies from across the region. We are inviting voluntary and third sector organisations from across the north-west region, with an interest in equalities, to participate in the survey which will provide valuable information on the impact of current policies on equalities across the region

The aim of the research is to fully understand how the current government's policies affect:

  • people who are defined as having protected characteristics under the Equality Act (this covers disability, race, sex, sexual orientation, maternity and pregnancy, gender reassignment, faith and belief and Age)
  • the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to support equality and meet the needs of vulnerable or marginalised communities in the North West

Five central areas of Government policy will be looked at::

  • Welfare reforms
  • Health and social care reforms
  • Localism and the changes to local service provision
  • Economic development, with an emphasis on the Local Growth White Paper
  • Big Society
