The Cumbria Legal Walk

The North West Legal Support Trust is a charity which raises money to distribute to legal advice agencies throughout the North West. The Trust is part of the Access To Justice Foundation, along with six other Regional Trusts, working together to raise funds to offer free legal advice to those most in need.
Now, amidst far-reaching funding cuts, many of these legal advice services are threatened with closure. As the President and Chair of the Trust, we are writing to seek your support. We are holding our very first Cumbria Legal Walk in Carlisle on September 27th 2012. We urge you and your firm to get involved and participate in the Walk to ensure that we can continue to support the vital work of legal advice charities all over our region.
We enclose a flyer which provides details of how to contact us. The legal profession has a fine record of corporate social responsibility, including pro bono work and helping those most vulnerable in our society. Taking part in our Cumbria Legal Walk is a simple way for each one of us to make a real positive contribution.

Will you be walking for justice on Thursday September 27?
2012 will be a difficult year for law centres and specialist legal advice charities and for the people who rely on those services for access to free legal advice. These organisations make a huge difference to people’s lives, reducing debt, poverty and homelessness, and combating discrimination and injustice.
The North West Legal Support Trust raises funds to distribute to legal advice agencies based all over the North West. The Trust is part of the Access to Justice Foundation, along with six other Regional Trusts, working together to help get free legal advice to those most in need.
We need YOUR support more than ever!
Now, amidst far-reaching funding cuts, many of these legal advice services are threatened with closure. We are holding our very first Cumbria Legal Walk in Carlisle on September 27th 2012. We need you and your firm to create Walk Teams and gain sponsorship to raise funds for the Trust, to ensure that we can continue to support the vital work of legal advice charities all over our region. Our route is 5k and the event will take place on Thursday 27th September, starting at 5.30pm. You can walk or run the course; we just need your time and enthusiasm to make the first Cumbria Legal Walk a success!
How to get involved
All you need to do is to contact the NWLST at cumbrialegalwalk@nwlst.org.uk and let us know who you are and the name of the team you want to enter. Our fundraising team will then guide you through the process – we register you, create a fundraising webpage and provide all the details you need. It couldn’t be simpler to make a real difference to people’s lives all over our region.
