2 Free Information Sharing Events

for People who support Eating Disorder Sufferers

27 February ~ Wigton

28 February ~ Dalton in Furness

Eating Disorders 02.14

Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is holding two free information sharing events for people who help support someone with an eating disorder.

The days are an opportunity for people to better understand eating disorders, meet and share ideas with other people who support those with eating disorders and learn about the support available for those who care for those with eating disorders.

The two days are as follows:

  • 27th February 9.30 -4.30 at The Greenhill Hotel Wigton
  • 28th February 9.30-4.30 at Chequers in Dalton in Furness.

These two information days were organised following a similar session held last year that was described as ‘really insightful’ and ‘very necessary’

Liz Bolt Consultant Psychologist said: “The day last year was found to be really helpful by those who attended. The benefits come partly from just being able to meet people dealing with same issues, and also from the information and ideas about how to support them differently.  Since that day we have held regular follow on groups to support those who wanted to develop their understanding and skills further. We know that seeing someone you care about struggling with an eating disorder is extremely distressing, and so these days try to help with that.  Recovery from eating disorders is possible but it is difficult. Families can play a really important part in helping with recovery.”
