Carlisle will celebrate its third Unity Festival on Saturday, July 14, 2918.
The popular event promotes diversity, integration, community cohesion and good relations.
The festival is held within the city centre and brings together a wide variety of community groups.
There’s a mix of fun events as well as public and private sector organisations working to share advice with visitors in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
The Carlisle Unity Festival welcomes all communities, ages and abilities. People from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities and other marginalised groups will be encouraged and supported in empowering their voices through the information stalls, food, workshops and performances.
More than 20 organisations delivered activities last year ranging from cultural workshops, poetry recitals, live music, film screenings, information events and fund-raisers.
The organisers’ goal is to help promote Carlisle as a welcoming place for all who want to live, work, study, conduct business or visit the city.
Details of this year’s event will be released nearer the time, but visitors are promised family entertainment, coffee morning, exhibitions, information stalls, evening shows and prize raffle.
