Hidden Stories - Shared Lives - Oral History Project in West and South Cumbria

Cumbria Development Education CentreAWAZ Cumbria and Cumberland A Secret History Group warmly invites you to join us for the launch in Allerdale and Copeland of our oral history project Hidden Stories - Shared Lives.

We aim to look at what brings, and has brought, people to Cumbria. We're recruiting volunteers to record the stories of migrants that will remind us of our common humanity while reflecting individuals' experiences, and these can be within living memory as well as those of present day refugees. We've produced a booklet called Cumbrians - who are we? that explains a bit of the background, and you can find it through the website on this link: http://www.hidden-stories.co.uk/resources

The launch is on Friday 2 December at Workington Library, Oxford Street, CA14 2LZ from 4 to 5.30pm. The guest of honour is Lord Alf Dubs who is expected to arrive about 4.30pm. Project staff and volunteers will be there to answer your questions, and there will be light refreshments available. We will be delighted to welcome you.
